Unairbrushed Babies

Don't be upset if you guessed incorrectly. I did a test like this to Becky a month ago (covered up Cammy's birthmark with a bow) and she got it wrong.

The easiest way to tell them apart in this picture: hold up a spoonful of baby food to your monitor. Whichever one breaks through the screen and eats it is Cammy and whichever one turns her head and frowns is Riley.

6 Month Appointment

The chicks had their 6 month doctor's visit. According to the doctor, they're the healthiest, most-beautiful, smartest, and most awesome girls in the world (I may have paraphrased a bit of that).

Cammy:
Weight: 13 lbs 0 oz

Head Circumference: 41.3 cm
Bench Press: 350 lbs

Riley:
Weight: 12 lbs 13 oz

I went to pick up Cade from school today and they were loading him on the bus. Apparently his paperwork had gone through and he was eligible to ride. He was so excited that I hopped back in the car and drove home, and he rode the bus.

One month old

We've had the girls home now for a couple of weeks and are starting to figure out how life works with three kids under the age of three. (Which is also the reason we haven't posted recently.)

Cammy and Riley had their two week check up and both got a clean bill of health and are gaining weight well. We go back to the doctor next week and expect that both girls will be over 5 lbs.

Here are some new pics of the girls, as well as one of Cade during his Easter egg coloring adventure. Enjoy!

Safely Home

On Monday, the docs gave us the okay to take Cammy and Riley home with us. The girls had met all the goals they had for them, and now it's our turn to look after them.

By the way, the mystery babies from the previous video are as follows: Baby A was Riley, Baby B was Cammy.  Real difficult when one has a feeding tube, huh?  Well, I'll try to make it harder on you now that both little faces are free of tubes and tape.

Six days in, the girls are doing pretty well.

Cammy is definitely better off than her sister right now.  She now weighs 3 lbs 14 oz.  Riley is down to 3 lbs 11 oz.

Neither have ever needed any help with breathing.  This is due in large part to the steroid shots Becky endured while they were still in the womb.

Both are eating alright.  Cammy generally eats all that she's given, which is about 30-35 ml.  Riley, on the other hand, has a little bit more trouble.  She's all tuckered out and eating is just too much work for her sometimes.  They inserted a feeding tube Monday night.  It goes in through her nose, and the nurses use it when she's too tired to eat or they feel she just needs a break from trying to eat.  As of late, she's been feeding mostly from the bottle.  They've only needed to use the tube to get the last few milliliters down her gullet.

The doctors said to expect a 10-14 day hospital stay from the birthday.

Hello Cammy & Riley

Late last night, on March 15, our two beautiful, identical daughters were born.

Cammy Sue came out first, weighing 4 lbs 2 oz and measuring 16 in.

A few minutes later, out came Riley Jean, weighing 4 lbs 1 oz and measuring 17 in.

Both girls received two 9 out of 10's on their Apgar scores, and have not needed any oxygen whatsoever. Becky and I are praising God for His great care of our little ones!
